Your Opportunity: Unit 46 is a Medical Teaching Unit with 48 beds whose focus is on care & coordination for acute medical patients and their multi-system complexities. The MTU is a fast paced, ever-changing environment with a strong emphasis on continued learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork. The registered nurses of Unit 46 are known for their thoroughness and advanced skill set in providing a high standard of care for some of the most acute patients in the Foothills Medical Centre. Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable. Classification: Registered Nurse Union: United Nurses of Alberta Unit and Program: Internal Medicine & MTU Primary Location: Foothills Medical Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: At (UNA only) FTE: 0.58 Posting End Date: 13-OCT-2026 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 01-NOV-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 33 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $44.56 Maximum Salary: $60.98 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications: Currently working on an internal medicine/medical teaching unit of demonstrated comparable acuity. Proven ability to function in an acute medical nursing environment within the last 3-6 months. Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Critical thinking and problem-solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to manage the job classification of “heavy physical demand” level as per the AHS Job. Demands Summary. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with Connect Care and clinical documentation standards. Candidates with previous or current experience on Internal Medicine or another Acute Medicine unit with equivalent Acuity are strongly preferred.

Requirements
Applicants must complete an accredited nursing education program, hold or be eligible for a CRNA practice permit, and have current BCLS-HCP certification. They must have recent experience in an acute medical or comparable-acuity teaching unit, strong communication and teamwork abilities, critical-thinking and organizational skills, adaptability, and the capacity to meet heavy physical demands; Connect Care proficiency is preferred.
