The Opportunity: The Laundry Aide performs various laundry duties associated with providing residents with the required laundry service. The Laundry Aide assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members. What Is In It For You: • Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements. • Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine. • Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering. • Performs simple mending and repairs. • Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors. • Ensures proper identification of all personal clothing. • Maintains a clean work environment, dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required. • Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread). • Cleans work area upon completion of shift. What You Will Need: • Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred. • Must understand the basics of good laundry techniques/practices. • A minimum of public-school education is required. Grade 12 Diploma preferred. • Must be able to read, write and follow oral instructions. Salary: $21.19 per hour Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
