This position is effective February 1, 2027 to June 25, 2027 While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $63,670 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.Effective July 1, 2026 Teacher's of Indigenous Languages shall received an annual allowance. Less than 0.5 FTE shall receive an annual allowance of $4,000. 0.5 FTE or greater shall receive an $8,000 annual allowance. Secondary School Teacher Possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate, membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch and eligibility for a Teachers Qualification Card. Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent with a major or minor in the subject area(s).Demonstrated experience in providing nsyilxcn language instruction Demonstrated current knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular competencies, content and appropriate resources Previous successful experience teaching the subject required Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills Have knowledge and/or experience in the areas of outcomes-based instruction, assessment for learning, differentiated instruction and inclusive education Be proficient with technology and 21 st century learning
