Location: Brantford, ON Job Type: Part-Time, In-Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Compensation: Competitive hourly wage (based on experience) About the Role We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Freight Brokerage Assistant to join our growing logistics team in Brantford, Ontario. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, customer-focused, and eager to learn. Bell City Transport is a third-generation transportation company with a strong reputation for customer service, reliability, and professionalism. We specialize in refrigerated and dry van transportation throughout Canada and the United States while continuing to expand our freight brokerage division. Working directly alongside our Freight Brokers, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day coordination of freight shipments while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in ensuring every shipment moves smoothly from pickup to delivery. No previous logistics experience is required. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities · Enter customer orders accurately into our Transportation Management System (TMS) · Assist Freight Brokers with day-to-day shipment management · Track and trace shipments throughout the day, when required · Book pickup and delivery appointments with customers and receivers · Assist with carrier onboarding and maintain carrier files · Verify carrier insurance, safety ratings, WSIB, Carrier411, and other compliance requirements · Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation · Collaborate with the brokerage team to ensure exceptional customer service Qualifications · Exceptional organizational skills · Strong attention to detail · Excellent communication skills · Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously · Positive, team-first attitude · Professional telephone and email etiquette · Strong computer skills · Ability to learn transportation software quickly · Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment · Excellent problem-solving skills · A desire to learn and grow within the logistics industry · Previous logistics or transportation experience is considered an asset but is not required What We Offer · Competitive hourly wage (based on experience) · Full benefits after 30 days · Paid vacation · Ongoing training and mentorship · Career advancement opportunities · Supportive team environment · Long-term career growth within Bell City Transport How to Apply If you're an organized, motivated individual looking to begin or grow your career in transportation and logistics, we'd love to hear from you.
