YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER Must be able to work with youth who exhibit challenging behaviours. WHAT YOU WILL DO As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide individualized, person-centered supports to children, youth, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include: * Build positive, trusting relationships with children, youth, individuals, and their families. * Serve as a positive role model while promoting dignity, respect, and independence. * Support individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household routines, budgeting, shopping, community safety, and communication skills. * Assist individuals in achieving personal goals outlined in individualized support plans. * Facilitate recreational, educational, vocational, cultural, social, and community inclusion activities. * Promote community participation and inclusion by supporting individuals in accessing community programs, employment, volunteer opportunities, and social activities. * Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing life skills, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and independence. * Administer medication in accordance with company policies and complete all required documentation. * Complete daily documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and required paperwork. * Collaborate with supervisors, families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community partners. * Transport individuals safely to appointments, school, employment, recreational activities, and community outings.
