We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and positive individuals to join our After School Program team as Children’s Program Mentors for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports children aged 4 to 12 years old in a safe, inclusive, and engaging after-school environment. Key Responsibilities Program Support & Delivery Support the planning and delivery of engaging after-school programming aligned with Ontario After School Program Guidelines. Assist with physical activity, recreation, arts, education, and nutrition-based activities. Lead and support group activities for children ages 4–12. Promote participation, inclusion, and positive youth engagement. Supervision & Safety Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Promote positive behaviour, respect, conflict resolution, and life skills development. Follow all health and safety procedures, including food safety standards. Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with Club policies and training. Teamwork & Program Support Work collaboratively with Site Coordinators, Program Coordinators, and team members. Support volunteers and placement students as required. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and orientation. Communication Build positive relationships with children, parents/guardians, and staff. Communicate concerns or incidents to supervisors in a timely and professional manner. Program Operations Assist with set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of program space. Help maintain supplies, materials, and equipment. Support attendance tracking and basic program documentation when needed. Qualifications Required Educational background or enrollment in a related field (ECE, CYC, SSW, Recreation, Education, or similar). Experience working with children ages 4–12 in a structured environment. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage children through sports, arts, recreation, or educational activities. Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification. Police Reference Check (required upon hiring). HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification. Experience in after-school programs, camps, or youth recreation settings. Availability Must be available Monday to Friday between 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., with occasional additional hours for PA Days, staff meetings, training, and special events as required. Contract Term This position will begin on August 31, 2026. The initial contract term is until December 18, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for the remainder of the 2026–2027 school year based on program needs, funding, and satisfactory job performance. Requires an educational background in ECE, CYC, SSW, Recreation, or Education, along with experience working with children in structured environments. Must possess current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification and pass a Police Reference Check.
