We are currently seeking minimum CSIA Level 2 (or international equivalent) ski instructors to teach on our Adult's programs who are available for the full winter season (approximately the beginning of December until early April) in a part time capacity. Your availability will include 5 consecutive days over the Christmas break period, as well as between one to two days per week throughout the winter, up to 15 hours a week. Duties and responsibilities include: * Teaching ski lessons following both the CSIA teaching methodology and the Big White Ski & Board School’s progression levels to a range of clients in a group setting. * Always working with safety in mind to safeguard guests and fellow workers * Planning lesson content to create a safe and fun learning experience * Evaluating lesson participants and recommending what they can do next * Ensuring effective public relations, and problem solving as required * Working cooperatively and maintaining ongoing communication with other program staff * Taking appropriate action to deal with incidents and emergencies, as outlined in the Ski & Board School’s policies and procedures Position requirements/skills: * CSIA Level 2 or above (or international equivalent), AND * Previous ski instructing experience, or experience working in a leadership setting All applicants should submit a cover letter and resume with two contactable references and include a copy of any relevant current certifications. Preference will be given to those who also have: * Confidence teaching in a second language, such as Spanish, French or Mandarin. * CASI level 1 or above (or international equivalent) * Experience in teaching children * Nordic Skiing certifications Criminal Record Checks: All employees are subject to criminal record checks at Big White Ski Resort. Due to the fact that we are all dealing and working with children (defined as any persons 18 years of age or younger) on a daily basis throughout the season, it is imperative that these checks are done. It is the responsibility of the employee to provide a current criminal record check. Physical demands: * Ability to carry 40lbs/18kg while skiing/riding * Ability and prepared to work in extreme alpine weather conditions * Ability to assist a fallen skier/snowboarder back onto their feet * Ability to lift 40lbs/18kg * Ability to ski/ride for 4-6 hours a day PLEASE NOTE: All employment offers to foreign nationals are conditional upon individuals obtaining their own valid working holiday visas for the coming winter season. Starting wage - $23.50 CAD per hour - plus sales incentives with increases based on relevant instructing certifications and time-based accruals. Target start date- 1st December
