We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada. Why Wright Canada Holdings: Pay rate of $25- $45 per hour. Overtime, statutory holiday, and vacation pay. Paid travel time, per diem and accommodations, as applicable. Employee ownership plan. Key Responsibilities: Use manual tools (chainsaws, axes, machetes, etc.) and machinery (brush cutters) to clear trees, shrubs, and thick brush from a designated area. Cut down and remove overgrown vegetation to improve land accessibility or prepare it for agricultural, construction, or forestry use. Gather and remove cut vegetation and debris from the site, ensuring it is properly disposed of or managed (e.g., mulching, burning, hauling away). In forested or dry areas, clear dead or dry brush to reduce the risk of wildfires. Clear paths for vehicles, workers, or machinery. Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of injury. Other duties as required. Knowledge and Skills Expectations: Certified Chainsaw operator Ability to traverse steep slopes and work for more than 7 hours a day The ability to work away from home for periods of time. Valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s License with less than 6 demerits B.C. Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent, is considered an asset. Applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening. Ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis. Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field. The ability to work away from home for periods of time. Requirements
