Position: Dietary Aide Competition: 2026-120 (Current Opportunity) STATUS: Part-Time Department: Nutritional Services Union Association: CUPE SALARY: $26.95 - $27.83/hour HOURS: Variety of shifts including days, afternoons, weekends and holidays 0645-1445/1045-1845 (subject to change based on operational needs) Position Summary Working under the general direction of the Food Service Supervisor, the Dietary Aide performs essential tasks needed to provide food for patients, cafeteria and catering functions. The Dietary Aide participates in Continuous Quality Improvement processes as a team member in assessing quality and making recommendations for improvement. Requirements Education and Experience: Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Related experience in the food service industry Current Food Handling Certification mandatory and maintained throughout employment Food Service Worker Certificate preferred Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility food service environment and knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferred Skills & Abilities Ability to read, understand and interpret oral and written instructions Relate in a respectful, tactful and sensitive manner with patients, staff and visitors Work both independently and as a member of a team Flexibility to modify routines as required to manage changing priorities Good attendance and availability required
