Job summary
Early Childhood Educators work in a dynamic team environment. They work with children between the ages of 0 - 5 to provide a caring and stimulating environment which promotes intellectual, physical and emotional growth. At BACI, Early Childhood Educators ensure inclusion for all the children at the centre as they plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for the children. Position: Regular Part-Time Early Childhood Educator Location: Burnaby, BC Salary: $27.53 - $31.57 Hours: 20.0 hours per week Schedule: Monday - Friday as per schedule Additional Employment Benefits: * First Aid and NCI will be provided by BACI. * Access to BACI Wellness Program. * Eligible, the Municipal Pension Plan and Health & Welfare benefits after completion 3-month probation. * Paid Birthday Day Off and Christmas closure. Education & Qualifications: * BC Early Childhood Education required and ECE IT (Early Childhood Educator Infant Toddler) & Special Needs Certificate preferred. * This position requires First Aid, TB screen/self-assessment, Vaccination/Immunization status disclosure. * Clear BC Criminal Record Check. * Minimum of 2 Previous Work References. Description: * Develop, implement and lead early play-based learning programs and activities such as storytelling, reading, singing with infants and toddlers. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of early years curriculum through your observations and interactions with children on the front-line. * Maintain positive relationships and communication with families. * Practical experience working with children requiring additional support in inclusive settings. * Practical experience working with children 0-5 years. * Understanding and commitment to the principles of inclusion. * Good communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to work with families, professionals and staff. * Ability to understand and follow procedure. * Working knowledge of computers is preferred. This position is open to all applicants and requires union membership. The successful applicant will be required to have a Criminal Record Search and Driver’s License Search completed and reviewed by the Executive Director.

Requirements
Requires a BC Early Childhood Education certificate, with ECE IT and Special Needs certificates preferred. Candidates must also possess valid First Aid certification and pass a criminal record check.
