Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members. Position Overview Medical Radiological Technologists provide diagnostic imaging services to radiologists, specialists, physicians and other health care providers. The images are used to diagnose and treat medical and surgical conditions or injury and disease. Medical Radiological Technologists operate x-ray equipment, such as computed radiography (CR), digital radiography (DR) and work in fully-equipped clinics in diagnostic imaging services as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Patients are seen as booked appointments as well as walk-ins for sick parade and urgent cases. Responsibilities The primary roles and responsibilities of Medical Radiological Technologists are to: provide patient care; produce diagnostic examinations; maintain equipment, accessories and supplies; and maintain a quality assurance program. Qualifications All Medical Radiological Technologists must, as a minimum: have a current certification from and current membership (Full Practice Membership) with the Canadian Association Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or by other professional associations that have reciprocal agreements with CAMRT such as the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec (OTIMROEPMQ); a Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C; and have a current license from the Medical Radiation Technologists regulatory body in the province of work. Additional Requirements The Medical Radiological Technologist must, as a minimum, have of 2 years of experience: working in a clinic or hospital as a Medical Radiation Technologist performing general, special, emergency, interventional, and operative radiology examinations observing safe radiation protection practices or procedures; applying diagnostic imaging quality assurance and quality control practices and programs; and operating and maintaining digital imaging equipment and accessories such as digital radiography, Radiology Information Systems, Computed Radiography, and Picture Archival and Communication Systems. Requirements

Applicants must hold current professional certification and full-practice membership with CAMRT or a reciprocal association, a current provincial license, and a healthcare-provider BLS certificate or equivalent. At least two years of experience is required in radiology examinations, radiation protection, imaging quality assurance and control, and operating and maintaining digital imaging systems.
