Job summary

Purpose and Objective To provide a consistent, professional experience for members and their guests with prompt and courteous service. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of hospitality and the service industry, enabling you to deliver at a level that meets the Cambridge Group of Clubs standards. Be capable and confident to professionally and promptly respond to all customer concerns or issues. Be able to accept, act upon, and share customer feedback with the team and management, with the aim of continually improving the customer experience and building brand loyalty. Contribute to sales growth by providing prompt and friendly customer service; building check averages through team member product training and sales execution. Accurately execute transaction management duties to ensure accurate sales and inventory management. Perform the necessary tasks to keep the service and restaurant space clean, safe and organized; complying with safety and security standards at all times. Shift Schedule: Tuesdays and Fridays 7:30am - 2:30pm (excluding public holidays) * start/finish times may vary depending on time of year * opportunity for additional hours for functions and events Major/Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Prepare and organize the workspace for the start of day operations * Clear and store items from the workspace at the end of day operations * Accurately record customer orders for food and beverage orders * Follow recipes for non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks including smoothies, coffees and mixed drinks * Serve and deliver customer orders, in a timely and professional manner * Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout the shift * Perform scheduled daily, weekly and periodical cleaning tasks as assigned * Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for the service of alcohol and food and comply with current Health and Safety Regulations Qualifications/Requirements * Current legally authorized to work in Canada * Must be 18 years if age or older * Previous café or bar/restaurant experience * SMART Serve Certification (required) * Food Handlers Certification (preferred) * Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays would allow for additional hours Skills/Knowledge/Attributes * Personable, mature and service oriented * Professional attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Experience with P.O.S. systems required (Silverware is an asset) * Organized, proactive, and trustworthy * Ability to lift items up to 40lbs Working Conditions * Requires standing for full shifts * Heavy lifting of bar/kitchen supplies * Standing and working above regular schedule as required for private functions, which can be very busy bar shifts Why You’ll Love Working Here * Be part of a welcoming, community-focused team * Work in a beautiful, high-end health club environment * Opportunities for professional growth and development * Staff events * Complimentary staff Club Membership Persons with disabilities who need accommodation in the application process, or those needing job postings in an alternative format, may e-mail a requset.
