Job summary

Job details

Want to learn M&A by doing it? Start by calling founders, then help structure the deals that come out of those calls. The Internship The Caprae Buyside Internship is a high-intensity training ground for future dealmakers. It replaces passive research and slow-paced financial modeling with live conversations, real negotiation psychology and rapid exposure to deal structuring. Everything starts with outbound calls. You learn how to talk with founders, read their motivation, overcome objections and extract deal-relevant information. As early as four weeks in, you can move into supporting real deals, where you pick up valuation logic, structure mechanics and the sequence of an ETA transaction. It is the only internship that focuses on the human side of M&A first, because that is where deals are won. About Caprae Capital Partners Caprae is a private equity and acquisitions platform led by Kevin Hong, a serial founder who scaled two tech ventures to $31M ARR and $7M in revenue. Since launching in January 2025, it has grown into one of the fastest-scaling platforms in lower-middle-market M&A and ETA, combining an international research engine, a full-stack deal sourcing arm and a rapidly expanding tech layer. Our services divisions have completed $50M in transaction value year to date, and we expect to exceed $150M in Q1 and Q2 of 2026. We want people who are ready to take PE to the next level. Core Responsibilities Call business owners and executives daily Navigate objections, gather context and learn founder psychology Learn how buyers and sellers negotiate outside of textbooks Practice controlled, professional persuasion Keep conversations structured and outcome-oriented Support deal structuring in the lower-middle-market based on those conversations Understand seller motivations versus buyer constraints Evaluate fit, feasibility and deal readiness Learn how earnouts, seller financing, rollover equity and reps and warranties work See how real deal conversations unfold and how structures adjust dynamically Support live buyer and seller interactions Help prepare call notes, next steps and negotiation plans Observe how Caprae navigates valuation gaps and structure negotiations Understand what kills deals and what revives them See transaction pacing, sequencing and the psychological arc of a deal Highlights 100% real-world communication and deal execution Learn negotiation psychology from day one Paid hourly Rapid exposure to real transaction mechanics Strong KPIs after one month open up collaboration with the deal team and the research team Interns who make the deal team and manage deal flow can make up to 20% of our success fee; several have accumulated potential bonus pools of $50K+ We strongly prefer to hire full-time from our internship program. We converted 3 interns to full-time roles in 2025 and expect to onboard significantly more in 2026 Ideal Candidate Strong communicators who learn quickly Students who want responsibility early People who want to learn how deals really happen, not academically People who learn better by doing than by observing People who enjoy structured, dynamic conversation over spreadsheet-heavy analysis Must be fluent in English Apply through LinkedIn or message our team to learn more. #MandAInternship #PrivateEquity #USInternships #FinanceInternship #DealStructuring #NegotiationSkills #EntrepreneurshipThroughAcquisition #CollegeCareers
