MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: We are seeking dedicated, student-centered Social Well-Being Facilitators to deliver various programs that promote the development of social problem-solving strategies and executive functioning skills, whilst also promoting self-esteem and self-advocacy in a supportive environment. In this role, you will work directly with students in-person, encouraging friendships and positive social/emotional behaviours. Mandatory training will be provided. REPORTS TO: Program Manager, Senior Manager of Programming DIRECT REPORTS: N/A COMPENSATION: Individuals with applicable designation (e.g., Ontario Certified Teacher, Registered Social Worker/Social Service Worker) receive $35.00 per hour. Individuals without applicable designation receive $30.00 per hour. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Program Manager in implementing and delivering the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program, facilitating in-person educational sessions at various sites across the Hamilton and Halton regions. Uphold the Mission of CDL and its programs and services while conducting oneself in a professional manner as a representative of the organization Create a positive learning environment that encourages relationship-building between the staff and students Implement positive behaviour support strategies, helping to manage group dynamics and maintain a safe, welcoming, and focused learning environment. Provide direct, one-on-one behaviour redirection or emotional regulation support to individual students when needed, helping them stay engaged without disrupting the wider group. Review all Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum materials prior to sessions, assisting with the preparation and organization of instructional resources, activities, and materials to ensure a seamless session. Remain in consistent communication with the Program Manager to discuss instruction, achievement, and evaluation (e.g., lesson planning, data collection, behavioural concern, safety issue, technology troubleshooting). Ensure all required session data is accurately collected and complete all reporting in a thorough and timely manner according to Social Well-Being Program guidelines. Incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies into all sessions to effectively support and engage learners of all abilities. Provide proactive and supportive communication throughout the program with both students and their parents/guardians. Work to ensure the health and safety of all students and volunteers in the program. Any other duties, as mutually agreed QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidates for the position include individuals: Prior experience working with children and/or youth with learning differences, specifically learning disabilities, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 and their families. Currently pursuing or completed a post-secondary degree/certification in Child & Youth Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, or similar field may be acceptable, depending on experience. Knowledge of a variety of play therapy models including directive methods and non-directive approaches is an asset. Previous experience providing behaviour support or managing group dynamics with a focus on social skill and/or executive functioning skill development is preferred. Experience working with Microsoft Suite is an asset but not required. Previous experience managing a group of people, such as volunteers, is an asset, but not required. Reliable transportation to and from the program sites in the Halton and Hamilton regions. Willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check. WORKING CONDITIONS: Flexible hours and in-person delivery of programs during evenings and weekend according to organizational demand. Have availability between Monday through Thursday for a minimum of two shifts a week between the hours of 3:00PM – 8:00PM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Strength Guidelines Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs Motion Parameters Extended periods of sitting and/or standing may be required Vision and Hearing Requirements No specific requirements to note Psychological Demands Interaction with others under varying circumstances, including situations of a highly sensitive nature.

Requirements
Preferred candidates should have experience working with children and youth with learning differences and be pursuing or have completed a relevant post-secondary degree or certification. Knowledge of play therapy models and experience in behavior support are also preferred.
