Job summary
Choices Market's Commissary facility has an opening for a part-time 5-ton Driver. Our Driver is responsible for delivering product to our various lower mainland stores. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license and a clean driving abstract are required to operate our 5-Ton delivery truck with automatic transmission. Responsibilities: Transporting finished good and raw materials over land to and from retail and distribution centers, Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance, Meeting delivery schedules, Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts, Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures, organized, mature and reliable, able to work independently and does not mind the solitary nature of driving, willing and able to work in all kinds of weather, manage daily tasks proficiently with limited supervision, productive, hardworking, and efficient, able to interact pleasantly and professionally with co-workers and customers, capable of ongoing heavy lifting up to 70 pounds; and comfortable in a physically demanding job that includes bending, lifting, and carrying. Requirements and skills: Proven work experience as a Truck Driver, Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (Fleet Complete, GPS, etc.) Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations, No recent moving or driving violations, Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.) Willing to submit to ICBC documents and provide employment recommendations, Valid truck driving licence Starting from: 18.50 / hr This is a part-time position requiring candidates to be available to start work at 5:00 am.
