POSTING TYPE: External POSITION TYPE: Casual HOURS OF WORK: On an as needed basis DEPARTMENT Recreation and Culture and Public Works HOURLY RATE $37.76 per hour – Schedule “B” Outside Employees ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION * Grade 12 Diploma or GED LICENSES / CERTIFICATES * Refrigeration Operator (RO) Certificate. * Candidates with RSA or IFO qualifications will be considered if they commit to acquire a Refrigeration Operator (RO) certification within 24 months. * Pool Operator Certificate – Level 1 and 2. * Current First Aid certification and other related training certification as required by the facility. EXPERIENCE * Minimum of three (3) years of broad-based experience in more than one of the following trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, plastering, painting, HVAC. SPECIFIC SKILLS * Thorough knowledge of company, local, provincial and/or federal regulations, policies/practices, code and legislation regarding occupational health, safety and environment. * Ability to select the appropriate tools and equipment required to perform all required maintenance tasks. * Possess skills in the following areas: curling ice, arena ice, swimming pool, and HVAC systems. * Knowledgeable in company quality acceptance standards and practices. * Ability to record and maintain required information on appropriate forms. * Strong customer focus with well-developed customer service skills. * Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner. * Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. * Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. * Strong problem solving skills. * Ability to organize multiple priorities and to set and meet personal goals and deadlines * Confidence and ability to work under pressure. * Ability to work in a team environment. Requirements
Requires a Grade 12 diploma, Pool Operator certificates, and a Refrigeration Operator certificate (or commitment to obtain one). Must have at least three years of experience in multiple trades such as carpentry, electrical, or plumbing.
