Position Details Position Information Position Title Part-Time Academic (NURS 2750.03: Health and Healing II, Pathophysiology and Therapeutics) - Winter 2027 Posting Number PTAP3543P Department/Unit Nursing Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities Part-Time Academic (Health and Healing II, Pathophysiology and Therapeutics – NURS 2750.03), 2027 Winter term Integrating knowledge of disease, diagnosis and person-centered management is key to successful nursing practice. Specific disease processes related to body systems are described and mechanisms of therapeutic options for management are evaluated. Evidence to support use of pharmacological, non-pharmacological, alternative and complimentary treatments is evaluated FORMAT : Lecture/Tutorial (2 × 2h/week) – In-Person delivery on Tuesdays and Fridays. This posting calls for two Part-Time Academics who will be co-teaching this course. This appointment runs from January 1 until April 30, 2027. The part-time academic instructors report directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies Academic. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics Teach course content Assessment and evaluation of student learning Use of Brightspace for course delivery Responding to student queries about coursework Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace Participation in course discussions within the program Develop and administer examinations Submission of grades Follow up with students as necessary Qualifications/Requirements Of Position Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and pathophysiology. PhD preferred. Prior teaching experience an asset.
