Job summary
Role Description ERA Grow is hiring an Agronomic Field & Data Technician for a 6-month graduate placement starting in June. This is a Calgary-based hybrid role, with work split between remote/admin tasks and hands-on trial work at our research station, where we are running greenhouse trials, soil box trials, and field validation work. The technician will support biochar trial setup, soil and crop data collection, product tracking, sample organization, field measurements, photo documentation, spreadsheet/database entry, and preparation of trial summaries and reports. This role is ideal for someone practical, organized, comfortable working outdoors or in greenhouse settings, and interested in agriculture, soil health, cleantech, and applied research. Funding Program Note This position is intended to be supported through a federal graduate employment funding program. Final hiring eligibility may depend on the program’s criteria, which may include graduate status, work authorization in Canada, and prior participation in the program. ERA Grow will review eligibility with shortlisted candidates as part of the hiring process. Qualifications Background in agriculture, environmental science, soil science, biology, chemistry, plant science, data, or a related field Comfortable with hands-on greenhouse and field work Strong organization and attention to detail Comfortable entering and managing data in spreadsheets Able to follow trial protocols and keep clean records Strong communication skills Self-motivated and able to work independently Valid driver’s license preferred Availability for a 6-month placement starting in June
