Job summary

Hours of Work: Temp. Sat. & Sun. 7p-11:15p (17 hrs. biweekly) (Grand Manor) (LPN) The job responsibilities are as follows: * Providing safe, competent, and ethical client care to their full scope of practice and within the requirements of their regulatory college Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. * Ensuring that nursing knowledge is current and possessing the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and clinical judgment to fulfil their role. * Identifying when HCAs require assistance, competency, and/or assignment is beyond their education and/or ability and ensuring assistance is sought out. * Demonstrating leadership within the health-care team through supervision and mentoring of Health Care Aides. * Participating in complaint resolution with the team, clients, family members, or others and ensuring the complaint is addressed or communicated to the appropriate person to ensure follow-up is completed. * Developing the therapeutic nurse-client relationship and applying the ethical framework of this relationship. * Adhering to all legal requirements of nursing practice and documentation. * Maintaining client confidentiality in written, oral and electronic communication. * Supporting the health care aids in progressing their competencies and delegating tasks to them as needed and within their competencies. * Contributing to a culture of safety, identifying safety concerns, and ensuring safety concerns are addressed. * Performing ongoing evaluation throughout delivery of care. Requirements * Current and active registration in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Alberta. * Maintain certification in First Aid & CPR Level C * Satisfactory current criminal record check.
