Title: Community Health Nurse - Neskonlith Salary: $94,724- $114,261 per year (pay range explained below) Contract: Term – until August 2028 (Maternity Leave coverage) Hours: Part-time 0.5 FTE - 18.75 hrs/wk., e.g. 8am-4pm Mon-Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri) Location: Interior Region - Neskonlith, B.C. Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) About The Role As the Community Health Nurse you will be providing a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services in remote First Nations communities in program areas of community and public heath and primary care. This includes health promotion and disease and injury prevention for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. About You To be successful in this role you will have; Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Occupational Certification And Requirements Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support Certification Level C; Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License Experience Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field Include specific area of experience required for the role Knowledge Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations. Knowledge and the application of concepts, principles, and theories of trans-cultural nursing, including knowledge of traditional, homeopathic or other healing practices used in the community. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and backgrounds, and the understanding of how culture impacts on communication patterns, and attitudes and approaches to health issues. Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, current practicing registration with BCCNM, and at least one year of recent relevant point-of-care nursing experience. Candidates must maintain Basic Life Support Level C certification, hold a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license, and apply knowledge of First Nations cultures, protocols, and transcultural nursing.
