Fort Vermilion School Division is located in the northwestern corner of Alberta and serves the communities of Rainbow Lake, High Level, Meander River, Rocky Lane, Fort Vermilion, Blumenort, La Crete, Buffalo Head Prairie and Bluehills. The area encompassed by FVSD is a diverse region that covers more than 87,000 square kilometers - about the size of the province of New Brunswick! There is a fascinating mix of cultures that includes Beaver, Dene and Cree First Nations, along with a strong Mennonite community and people who have moved here from all parts of Canada.
