The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs a variety of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, cardiac, and vascular procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They also manage diagnostic imaging data, assist with interventional procedures, and maintain equipment performance standards. Candidates must be graduates of a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac and General Sonography and hold certification with Sonography Canada or ARDMS. Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course or equivalent experience is also required.
