We are currently looking for a Gatehouse associate to work in a fast-paced retail environment. This position requires working outside and to be extremely knowledgeable about building materials to ensure that each customer’s order is correct. Due to the Loss Prevention aspect of the position you need to ensure all products are accounted for and paid for before leaving the premises, so you need to be efficient, tactful, and thorough to excel at this position. The starting wage is $17.30/hr. RESPONSIBILITIES * Collect payments * Operate registers, scanners, and credit card/debit card terminals * Check customer loads for accuracy * Clear all loads coming in and leaving the yard * Report any violations, theft, accidents, or injuries to the store manager * Provide excellent customer service * Ability to lift light to heavy merchandise QUALIFICATIONS * Lumber knowledge is an asset * Ability to perform physically demanding work as needed * Ability to work in all weather conditions and a fast-paced environment * Great verbal communication skills * Basic computer knowledge * Flexible availability including evenings and weekends Founded in 1882, J.D. Requirements
Candidates should possess basic computer knowledge, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions. Previous lumber knowledge is considered an asset for this role.
