Job summary

Position: Part Time Recreation Aide The successful candidate must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings as required. Job Description Reporting to the Recreation Director, the Recreation Aide will assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents. Key Responsibilities: * Planning and implementing meaningful programs for the residents in conjunction with the Recreation Director * Evaluating and documenting the progress of the residents to meet their changing physical, mental and social needs * Maintains effective communication with residents, families, volunteers, and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming events. * Attends in-services for continuing education on the comfort, care, needs and recreational activities for the residents * Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents' interest in mind. * Preparing, carrying out and evaluating daily activities. * Assisting with meal services as required. * Other duties as assigned. * Working evenings and weekends Qualifications * College diploma in Recreation or Leisure Studies or a related field is required. * Previous experience working with seniors. * Proficiency in Point Click Care * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly. * Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).
