Job summary
Company Description Kraftgene AI Inc. is a Canadian startup building EnergyEminence, a modular unified operating system for critical energy infrastructure, including utilities, renewables, and oil and gas pipelines. The platform connects digital insights to physical actions by combining high-fidelity digital twins, immersive visualization, and autonomous robotics to address energy resilience and environmental monitoring challenges. By unifying infrastructure health with environmental intelligence—such as wildfire conditions and grid performance—the system enables real-time optimization and autonomous responses to climate-related risks. The core architecture leverages Graph Neural Networks, Physics-Informed Learning, and modular AI agents operating at the edge to deliver fast optimization across grid and pipeline operations. Kraftgene AI is part of the AWS Clean Energy Accelerator portfolio and supported by leading innovation programs from NVIDIA, AWS, Google, Microsoft, Vector Institute, and Altitude Accelerator, as it scales a high-caliber research and engineering team. Role Description As a Co-founder and Full-Stack Engineer, you will help shape the technical vision, product architecture, and engineering culture of Kraftgene AI Inc. on a part-time basis. You will design, implement, and maintain end-to-end web application features for the EnergyEminence platform, including front-end interfaces for digital twin visualization and back-end services for AI agent orchestration and data pipelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating on system architecture decisions, developing reliable APIs, integrating cloud services, ensuring security and scalability, and conducting code reviews. You will work closely with the founding team on technical roadmaps, product priorities, investor-facing technical materials, and customer feedback loops. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, with a mix of on-site collaboration and flexible work-from-home arrangements. Qualifications Strong analytical skills to design system architectures, interpret complex data, and optimize performance across front-end and back-end services. Effective communication skills for collaborating with co-founders, research teams, partners, and early customers, including clear technical documentation. Sales-related skills to support technical demos, investor discussions, and customer discovery for critical infrastructure and energy-sector clients. Marketing awareness to help translate technical capabilities into compelling product narratives and support go-to-market activities. Research skills to explore emerging AI, robotics, and energy technologies, validate assumptions, and contribute to the continuous evolution of the platform. Proficiency in full-stack development (e.g., modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, next.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, databases, and cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience with data-intensive or real-time systems; familiarity with digital twins, AI/ML, or edge computing is an asset.
