Millcroft Inn & Spa is currently seeking 1 Banquet Server to join our growing team! Job Title: Banquet Server Location: 55 John St, Alton, ON L7K 0C4 Property: Millcroft Inn & Spa Position Summary: To serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner, following all service standards and contracted specifications. Duties and Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities: * Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity * Meeting established up-selling and sales goals * Must be available for Morning and Evening shifts on Weekdays and Weekends * To set up function space as required in house and off-site following service guidelines * Serving at both in house and off-site functions * Disassemble at the end of each function and ensure that all equipment is returned to its proper place and polish all cutlery * Keeps supply areas clean and organized * Properly clean function rooms after groups leave and set for show * Wipe down table bases and chairs following each function * Reports to the Banquet Captain overseeing the function/event * Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services * Suggesting additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences * Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services * Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs * All other duties as assigned Professional Requirements: * Experience in various types of service * Experience in creative buffet set-ups * Minimal beverage knowledge * 3-5 year of experience * Smart Serve Certificate required * Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset Personal Attributes: * Excellent communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills * Capable of prioritizing work and handling a variety of tasks * Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services * Positive sales-oriented personality * Desire to meet goals * Ethical and honest PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Some heavy lifting involved * Standing and walking throughout majority of the shift Questions, quoting the job title and location, may be directed to [email protected] [[email protected]] Lais Hotel Properties Limited is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible workplace where all individuals are valued and respected.
