Job details
About MAI Product Inc. MAI Product Inc. is an early-stage company based in British Columbia. We help customers explore custom product ideas through AI-assisted visual design, then work with manufacturing suppliers to assess production options and coordinate fulfilment. Potential projects include promotional items, apparel, drinkware, stationery, fitness equipment and accessories, furniture, kitchenware and tableware, and other custom products. Product suitability and manufacturing feasibility are assessed individually. We are looking for a part-time Customer Outreach & Sales Support Assistant to help us connect with potential business customers across Canada and support the initial enquiry process. About the role You will work directly with our founding team to research potential customers, introduce our services and follow up on enquiries. You will help organize customer requirements so our design and supply chain team can assess the next steps. Outreach will initially focus on email, written communication and online meetings. You may also introduce our services through your existing professional network, where appropriate. An existing customer network is not required. Optional visits to potential business customers may be arranged with the company’s prior approval. The purpose, paid working time and related business expenses must be agreed in advance. Approved business expenses will be paid or reimbursed by the company. Telephone prospecting is not required. Final pricing, manufacturing feasibility and delivery commitments are confirmed by the founding team. Responsibilities Research potential business customers within agreed customer segments and maintain an organized contact list. Introduce our services through targeted email outreach, online meetings and relevant professional contacts, using company-provided materials and approved messaging. Participate in optional, pre-approved visits to potential business customers where appropriate. Follow up with interested businesses and answer initial questions using information provided by the team. Help customers understand how to use our website to explore product ideas and submit enquiries. Collect and document requirements, including intended use, quantity, budget, delivery date, colours, customization details and artwork files. Coordinate customer questions and feedback with our design and supply chain team. Maintain accurate records of outreach, responses and next steps. Share recurring customer questions and website usability feedback with the team. Qualifications Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with business customers. Good organization and attention to detail. Confidence introducing a service to new business contacts and following up respectfully. Familiarity with email, spreadsheets and online meeting tools. Ability to work independently within agreed priorities and seek guidance when needed. An interest in custom products, design or working with an early-stage business. Experience in customer service, sales support, business outreach or promotional products is an asset, but is not required. Technical AI and manufacturing expertise are not required. Compensation Compensation is calculated each biweekly pay period and is the greater of: Guaranteed pay at CAD $19.50 per hour for all hours worked; or Commission earned for that pay period under the company’s commission plan. These amounts are not added together. If commission is below the guaranteed hourly amount, the company pays the guaranteed amount. This guarantee is not a recoverable advance and will not be deducted from future commissions. The full commission terms, including the rate, calculation basis, order attribution, when commission is earned and the treatment of cancellations or refunds, will be provided in writing for review before you accept an offer. Applicable vacation pay and other statutory entitlements will be provided in accordance with employment standards. Working arrangements Part-time, 10 hours per week. Home-based within British Columbia. You must reside and perform the work in BC; you do not need to be located in Greater Vancouver. No regular office attendance is required. Any customer visits are optional and subject to prior approval. Flexible scheduling within agreed working hours, with some availability during regular business hours for customer follow-up and team coordination. The founding team will provide introductory materials, outreach templates and guidance. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada. How to apply Please submit your resume through LinkedIn, along with a short note explaining your interest in the role and any relevant customer communication or outreach experience. Please include your availability and confirm that you are based in British Columbia.
