August 14, 2026 RESEARCH ASSISTANT II (BAND LEVEL 7) Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences Faculty of Medicine (Part-Time, Contractual until January 30, 2027) The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approval This position is funded through an external grant The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging is a national study of adult development and aging that will recruit 50,000 individuals across Canada. Information will be collected from participants through telephone interviews, in person interviews, and physical assessments. DUTIES The Research Assistant II will assist the Memorial University CLSA research team with duties including: scheduling interviews with pre-selected participants for the study; obtaining participant consent; receiving participants into the data collection site; performing cognitive tests; performing vision and hearing assessments; performing tests to assess mobility, balance, and hand strength; measuring participants weight, height, blood pressure, lung function test , ECHO Cardiogram and ECG (training provided); entering data using Beartooth and Pine software; performing regular calibration and quality control of equipment; and performing other related duties as required. Some evening and weekend work is possible. Qualifications Experience (1-3 years) in health related research; completion of most coursework towards in a Master’s degree in a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. The ideal candidate must possess strong time management, strong written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask while efficiently determining priorities. Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology and experience with interviewing are assets.
