Job summary
Role: As an integral part of Fitness and Training Team, the Equipment & Maintenance Specialist is responsible for providing technical and operational support, while working closely with the Fitness Coordinator & Fitness Manager. Legendary Service, Safety, Excellence, and Innovation are key requirements of the role. They will be self-starter and intrinsically driven individual who inspires a high level of safety standards in the fitness department and has the capability to implement changes based on a business needs, while ensuring a legendary experience for our customers. This role is 5-6 hours per week with opportunity for call-ins falling between Monday through Friday (flexible days) based on equipment and repair needs, with a key focus on preventative maintenance on all fitness equipment, minor repairs using existing in-stock parts, reupholsters and tracking repair/maintenance. What you'll do: Administrative Support: • Statistical analysis which includes collection, compiling and sharing with the manager. • Assist Coordinator with obtaining quotes on new equipment and assisting with ordering of both new and replacement items and/or parts. Maintenance: • Perform preventative maintenance on all fitness equipment (lubrication, settings, filters etc.) • Perform minor repairs to equipment using in-stock parts (pedals, seats, switches etc.) • Maintain and repair sports equipment (basketball padding, rims, and nets, volleyball standards, nets and cranks, badminton nets and posts) What you'll need: * Fitness equipment maintenance experience is an asset. * Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills is required. * The ability to work independently, with little supervision, in a fast paced environment is critical. * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) * Certifications in CPR Level C and Standard First Aid are required within the first 3 months of employment Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We value the uniqueness and perspectives of all employees and are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to create a feeling of belonging for all of our team members at MNP Community & Sport Centre. What you’ll do

Requirements
Candidates should be pursuing or hold a degree in Kinesiology, CPT, or Sport Management, with a preference for 2 years of leadership and personal training experience. CPR Level C and Standard First Aid certifications are required within the first three months.
