Their role encompasses not only assisting with daily living activities but also offering emotional and social support, fostering a holistic approach to enhancing the well-being and quality of life of those they serve. Key Responsibilities: o Assist client with activities of daily living, hygiene, hair care, dressing, assist with meals and feed or feeding clients. o Assist client with personal care, shower, exercise, socialization. o Assist client with morning, afternoon and/or evening (bedtime) routines o Administer bedside and personal care to clients such as aid in ambulation, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing. o May perform routine health-related duties such as wound care, changing dressings, and assisting in the supervision/administration of medications. o May perform light routine housekeeping duties such as washing dishes & making beds. o Report any changes in health condition, or safety risks to immediate supervisor. Key Competencies: o Availability to work week days and weekends. o Experience supporting client with limited mobility. o Comfortable working in an environment with pets. o Proven ability to be friendly and not overly sensitive. o Demonstrated ability to work with patients with dementia or cognitive impairments. o Demonstrated knowledge and practice of good body mechanics. o Good listening skills. o Ability to understand, interpret and carry out written or verbal instructions. o Proven ability to work with minimal supervision. o Demonstrated commitment to patient safety. o Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance. o Functional proficiency in English & French (oral and written). o Cultural education and experience. o Able to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely; able to freely lift up to 35 pounds. o Ability to travel if needed. Education: · Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Program from a Community College. · Job Type: Part-time/ Full-time/Casual/On-demand/Last-minute. · Work Location: In person
