Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2627-06 Educational Assistant and Early Childhood Assistant - Caslan School We are seeking a full-time (1.0 fte) position which will be part-time (0.462) Educational Assistant and part-time (0.538 fte) Early Childhood Assistant. This assignment is to commence at the the start of the 2026-2027 school year and involves assisting with students educational program needs including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs. The position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment. Caslan School is located 45 km SW of the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 90 students in ECS to Grade 8. Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have Early Learning and Child Care Certification - Minimum Level 1 Child Development Worker Post Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies First Aid Certification Experience/training in childcare and related fields A sincere desire to work with children Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training How To Apply Interested applicants are required to create and complete all sections of their portfolio through the 'Apply On-Line' link on our website, in the employment section.
