Ice Maintenance Crew Member, Belleville Senators

The Opportunity The Belleville Senators are seeking energetic, detail-oriented part-time Ice Maintenance Crew Members. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL affiliate team which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a professional sports team. The Ice Maintenance Crew Member plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and smoothness of the AHL ice surface, working in close collaboration with facility staff. Together, they maintain the optimal conditions for all Belleville Senators home games. Ice Maintenance Crew Members also contribute to various on-ice activities, including setting up carpeting for on-ice presentations and assisting with promotions such as chuck-a-puck and other intermission activations. This is a part-time role based upon the organization’s needs which can include weekday, evening, and weekends shifts. Key Responsibilities Follow direction of the Ice Maintenance Crew Supervisor, the Manager, Content & Game Presentation, Producer, and Facilities team. Efficiently complete dry scrapes of the ice during each promotional timeout. Support the execution of on-ice activations including the set up and tear down of all necessary equipment. Assist with the execution of on-ice ceremonies by preparing and setting up carpets for all events. Qualifications Must be able to skate at a high level Must own their own skates Able to perform under pressure Have high attention to detail Perform their job in a safe and respectful manner Reliable and strong team player. Job Conditions This position required regular evening and weekend work, as dictated by the Belleville Senators home game schedule for the season. In addition to skating, Ice Maintenance Crew Members will have light lifting responsibilities such as moving ceremonial carpets. Who We Are The Belleville Senators are a professional ice hockey team based in Belleville, Ontario, competing in the American Hockey League (AHL). They are the top affiliate of the NHL's Ottawa Senators and were established in 2017 after the Binghamton Senators relocated to Belleville. The team plays its home games at CAA Arena and serves as a key development ground for Ottawa’s future NHL talent. The Ice Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for maintaining the quality of the ice surface through dry scrapes during promotional timeouts. They also assist with on-ice activations, including setting up ceremonial carpets and supporting intermission promotions.
