We are seeking a dependable, organized, and team-oriented Laundry Aide to join our Environmental Services team. This position plays an important role in ensuring residents receive clean, well-maintained personal clothing and linens while supporting a safe, efficient, and resident-focused laundry operation. This position of laundry aid is for a part-time evening position, 28 hours bi-weekly. Position Summary The Laundry Aide is responsible for processing resident personal clothing and facility linens while maintaining established quality, infection prevention, and safety standards. Working collaboratively with the care team, this role ensures laundry carts are stocked, resident clothing is accurately sorted and returned, and the department remains organized to support uninterrupted service. The department operates on a coordinated shift model where each shift prepares work for the next to ensure continuous service. Key Responsibilities Sort, wash, dry, fold, hang, and distribute resident personal clothing and facility linens. Ensure resident clothing is accurately identified, labelled, and returned to the appropriate home area. Maintain organized personal clothing and linen carts according to established procedures. Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or repair needs and report concerns promptly. Maintain inventory levels of linens and replenish carts as required. Follow infection prevention and control practices and safe equipment operation procedures. Clean laundry equipment, work areas, lint traps, and floors to maintain a safe work environment. Communicate effectively with co-workers and nursing staff regarding resident clothing, missing items, and operational concerns. Support departmental goals by completing assigned duties efficiently while preparing work for the next shift. Qualifications Secondary School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, or long-term care experience is considered an asset. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to lift, push, pull, and transport laundry carts and linen throughout the shift. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and resident-centred care. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
