Job summary
SCHOOL SECRETARY Colony Schools Competition #PLSD-2271 This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. August 25th, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement. We are currently looking for a dedicated and organized professional to join our team as a School Secretary. You will provide essential support to the principal, staff and students while managing daily administrative and secretarial tasks for the Colony Schools. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, maintaining student records, tracking attendance, preparing and distributing monthly newsletters, coordinating meetings and events and managing other administrative files such as processing invoices, expenses, purchase orders, etc. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is essential. Experience understanding PASI procedures and Edsembli/Edsby is preferred, but training will be provided. This is a part time (0.5 FTE) probationary position to commence as soon as possible. Weekly hours of work will be determined based on applicant availability. You will be comfortable with computers and use of the Internet. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, managing documents, spreadsheets and databases. Familiarity with web-based applications will be beneficial. You must be able to exhibit the associated skills to communicate with students and teachers in a meaningful and professional manner. You will be expected to present yourself as an organized and professional representative of the staff. Previous experience working within a fast-paced, team environment would be an asset.
