Role Description The Treasury Operations Specialist is a part-time, remote role responsible for supporting day-to-day financial and treasury activities for Ontario Works within the Region of Peel. This role includes monitoring cash flows, assisting with cash management processes, and helping to optimize the use of treasury services and banking solutions. The specialist will prepare and reconcile financial reports, track transactions, and support compliance with internal controls and financial policies. Daily duties also involve working with internal stakeholders to resolve financial inquiries, conducting analytical reviews of treasury data, and contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy in treasury operations. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Treasury Management and Treasury Services to support daily treasury operations and banking activities. Candidates should possess Cash Management skills to monitor cash positions, manage inflows and outflows, and support liquidity planning. Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and produce accurate reports. Candidates should possess Finance knowledge to understand public sector financial practices, budgeting, and compliance requirements. Relevant post-secondary education in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is beneficial. Experience with financial systems, spreadsheets, and treasury or banking platforms is an asset. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment are preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to ethical and inclusive public service are important.
