Job summary
Position Summary The Royal Glenora Club is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented Part-Time Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team. The Kitchen Steward plays an essential role in keeping our kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and operating efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and understands that a clean and organized kitchen is the foundation of great food and service. Key Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and ensure dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing area throughout the shift. Complete daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, garbage removal, and sanitation. Assist with cleaning and organizing kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers, storage areas, and other back-of-house spaces. Restock dishes, cookware, cleaning supplies, and other kitchen items as required. Assist cooks and chefs with kitchen support duties when needed. Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Properly handle and use commercial cleaning chemicals and equipment. Support both restaurant and banquet kitchen operations during busy periods and events. Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Communicate effectively with chefs, cooks, servers, and other members of the culinary team. Complete opening, closing, and deep-cleaning duties as assigned. What We Are Looking For Previous kitchen, dishwasher, cleaning, or food-service experience is an asset, but not required. Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Reliable and punctual. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong attention to cleanliness and detail. Ability to take direction and follow established procedures. Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to approximately 40 lbs.
