If you were working with us as a Life Enrichment Worker - BSO, here are some of the things you would have done last week:Planned, led, and assisted with group programs, one-to-one activities, and special events that brought joy and meaning to ResidentsAssessed Residents’ recreation, leisure, therapeutic, and restorative care needs, and developed individualized care plans to support their well-beingParticipated in behavioural assessments, using tracking tools and team consults to identify responsive behavioursFollowed all BSO referral, assessment, and documentation processesSupported Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives within the HomeUsed data and observation to monitor, assess, and improve care and servicesWorked in compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and Home policies, including infection control and risk preventionCommunicated respectfully and effectively with Residents, families, and team membersResponded to and reported Resident and family inquiries, directing them to the appropriate care team membersContributed to a safe, supportive workplace, including hazard identification and use of required PPEAnd supported your team as needed. While we don't take ourselves seriously, we take our jobs seriously and love to have fun with each other and the Residents!QualificationsTo be hired into this role, you must have:A post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or GerontologyMinimum 6 months experience in Life Enrichment in Long Term Care (recreation, leisure, therapeutic programs, restorative care, volunteerism) preferredRestorative Care training considered an assetComputer skills (Email, Word, Care Planning, Graphics) with working knowledge of PCC and ActivityProFirst Aid (every 3 years) and CPR certification (annually)Food Handler’s certification (every 5 years)Additional InformationWhile our Applicant Tracking System uses some AI-enhanced tools, every decision throughout screening, assessing, and selecting candidates is made by real people on our team. Requirements
Requires a post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or Gerontology. Must hold current First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler certifications, with preferred experience in Long Term Care.
