Job Description At our Long Term Care homes, we pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming culinary atmosphere with fantastic food. As a Dietary Aide, you help serve our Residents during meal times and special events. If you were working for us as a Dietary Aide, here are some of the things you would have done last week: Greeted Residents and answered questions in a courteous and professional manner Connected with some of your Residents to see how their day was or if they were looking forward to any events as they sit down at their table Serve attractive, nutritious meals being mindful of special diets, textures, and needs of the Residents Experienced the joy of making a positive impact by serving nutritious, comforting meals to Residents Participated in establishing and maintaining a home-like environment, including the dining experience Participated in a special recreation event like a cupcake tasting competition for the Residents, or summer barbeque for the Home Set up and cleared the dining room Washed dishes, cleaned and sanitized the kitchen area Assisted with food preparation as assigned And supported your team as needed. Qualifications To be hired into this role, you must have: Certification in the Food Safety Awareness Course with recertification every 5 years Past experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant setting Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months TB 2 Step updated within the last year Additional Information While our Applicant Tracking System uses some AI-enhanced tools, every decision throughout screening, assessing, and selecting candidates is made by real people on our team. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Food Safety Awareness certification and have experience in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings. A recent Vulnerable Sector Screening and updated TB 2 Step test are required.
