The Village at University Gates has an exciting opportunity for a Food Service Aide to join their team. * • Location: 250 Laurelwood Dr. Waterloo, ON N2J 0E2 • Position Type: unscheduled part time • Expected Start Date: October 2026 The hiring rate for this role is $_22.78___ per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and acceptable Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting. How Schlegel Villages supports our Team Members: * Competitive salary, and benefits; * Significant opportunities for Growth and Development * Ongoing Team Member Appreciation incentives and rewards and recognition * Extended Health Benefits & Retirement Savings * Individualized Assistance for Team Member Education and Development * Loans and Scholarships to help our team members realize their greatest potential * Financial Hardship Support Program: Wilfred Schlegel Hope Fund * A Unique Family Culture As a new Food Services team member (FSA), you will: * Serves meals and beverages, following residents’ diets and food preferences while using safe and sanitary food handling techniques. * Monitors the quality of food supplies and equipment received, advising leaders of problems. * Assists in the preparation of catering functions, room setup with necessary food service equipment, food and beverages, flatware and dinner ware, as requested * Sets and maintains a clean and sanitized dining room and workspace. * Assists with orientation and training of new food service team members. * Preparation of nourishment carts (where applicable). * Dishwashing duties (where applicable). * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: * Completion of the Food Services Worker training program is an asset (not required) * Hold a valid Food Handlers certification (Please upload current certification with your resume) * A caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members; * Be able to lift up to 35lbs; * Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team; * Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents; * Food Service Team Members at Schlegel Villages assist with the preparation of catering functions and events, and maintaining a clean dining room and workspace.
