The Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with sickle cell disease and their families. Founded in 2005, SCAGO works to bridge gaps in healthcare, foster inclusive community support, and advocate for systemic change that ensures equitable care and resources for sickle cell warriors. Through education, public awareness, and policy advocacy, we empower patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions and drive progress. We collaborate with healthcare providers, researchers, policymakers, and diverse communities to advance knowledge, champion equity, and amplify the voices of those affected by sickle cell disease in Ontario. Develop and implement communications strategies, create multimedia and written content, and manage SCAGO’s social media channels, website, newsletters, and content calendar. Promote and document events, coordinate with internal teams and partners, analyze campaign performance, and report on audience growth and engagement.
