And we offer a number of programs and benefits that support team members’ financial, personal and professional needs: • A competitive salary and vacation package • Health & Dental benefits program • RRSP with employer match • Share Ownership and Reward Program (SOAR) • Employee Share Purchase Plan with company match • Continuous learning and growth so you have the skillset needed to succeed and take on new challenges • A welcoming culture that values diversity and differing perspectives, experiences and beliefs As a Cook your typical day will impact in the following ways: • Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation • Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu document as provided • Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities • Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action • In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including enu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers • Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members • Performing other duties as assigned Must haves: • Grade 12 minimum education required • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate • Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality • Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province Additional qualifications that would be considered an asset: • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify Sienna Senior Living is committed to creating an inclusive environment where all team members and residents feel like they belong. Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of a Grade 12 education and a valid Safe Food Handling or Smart Serve certificate. Previous experience in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality cooking is required.
