SOAR Community Services is a not-for-profit organization that has been offering help to the people in Brantford, Brant, and Haldimand for over 55 years. Today, we provide our community members with support in the areas of Employment, Housing, Justice, and Addictions and Mental Health. Some of the most vulnerable people we work with need assistance in more than one – or even all - of these categories.

The support worker will deliver direct care to vulnerable individuals in emergency housing, shelters, and warming centres. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with the housing services team to coordinate client needs.

The Crisis Counsellor provides immediate support, risk assessments, and stabilization for individuals experiencing mental health or addiction crises. They also manage phone and walk-in services, including participation in the 9-8-8 national helpline.

The Withdrawal Management Worker monitors client withdrawal symptoms, administers medication, and facilitates psychoeducational groups to support recovery. They also conduct client screenings, assist with intake, and maintain a safe, clean facility environment.

The residential counsellor provides orientation, life skills support, and psychoeducational programming to clients in a 10-bed live-in treatment program. They also manage medication administration, document client care, and support the 24-hour crisis line.
