PART-TIME RETAIL & FOOD PREPARATION ASSOCIATE Minimum 20 hours per week, with potential to become full-time Spanish Pig is one of Toronto’s leading destinations for exceptional Spanish food. From jamón Ibérico and artisan cheeses to conservas, specialty groceries and freshly prepared sandwiches, we are passionate about bringing the very best of Spain to our customers. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and versatile person to join our team in Roncesvalles. This is a hands-on position for someone who genuinely enjoys gourmet food, takes pride in excellent customer service and would be excited to represent a well-established and growing specialty-food brand. The position begins with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Following a successful probationary period, there may be an opportunity to move into a full-time position of approximately 40 hours per week. The role is varied and may include: Welcoming customers and providing knowledgeable, friendly service Preparing sandwiches and other simple food items Slicing and packaging charcuterie and cheese Preparing, packing and checking online orders Restocking products and maintaining attractive displays Receiving and organizing deliveries Keeping food-preparation and retail areas clean and organized Learning about our products and helping customers choose the right items Supporting the team with all aspects of the shop’s daily operation The ideal candidate will: Have previous experience in a restaurant, bar, specialty-food shop or retail environment Hold a valid Food Handler Certificate Have Smart Serve certification, or be willing to obtain it if required Be dependable, organized and comfortable working in a busy environment Enjoy working with customers and contributing as part of a small team Have a genuine interest in Spanish food, gourmet products and hospitality Be comfortable moving between different responsibilities throughout a shift Speak Spanish—this is a significant advantage, although it is not essential Availability on Sundays is essential and will form part of the regular working schedule. Additional working days can be discussed according to the successful candidate’s availability and the needs of the business.
