The RN provides patient/client-centred and evidence informed care to promote health and assess the need for the provision of care and the treatment of health conditions by supportive preventative therapeutic palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal patient/client function. The RN collaborates with the inter-professional team and assumes a leadership role in the delivering a full range of care and treatment to patient/clients including those with complex needs high acuity and less predictable outcomes. Qualifications: -Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required -Two years current medical/surgical nursing experience is an asset -Current Critical Care Hemodialysis or Nephrology nursing preferred •Current BCLS/HCP certification required •Demonstrated knowledge sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families •Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred -Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development -Continuing education courses in physical assessment or communication skills or certification in Nephrology would be an asset -Willingness and ability to work regular or extended tours as required in order to meet the needs of the unit for pre-booked and relief hours -Willingness and ability to do on-call shifts and out of unit assignments -A good attendance and work record demonstrating reliability and dependability is essential -A resume regarding further education special courses and experience should accompany the application St. Joseph’s Health System (SJHS) and its member organizations are equal opportunity employers and strives for equity, inclusiveness, and diversity in all programs, practices, facilities, and people.
