The RN provides patient/client-centred and evidence informed care to promote health and assess the need for the provision of care and the treatment of health conditions by supportive preventative therapeutic palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal patient/client function. The RN collaborates with the inter-professional team and assumes a leadership role in the delivering a full range of care and treatment to patient/clients including those with complex needs high acuity and less predictable outcomes. Qualifications •Current registration with Colleges of Nurses of Ontario required •Must have a minimum of 2 years related current experience in critical care nursing (i.e. PACU intensive care emergency etc) required •Minimum 2 years post-operative surgical nursing preferred •Current BCLS/HCP certification required •ACLS preferred •Demonstrated knowledge sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families •Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred •PACU course preferred •Critical Care Course an asset •Cardiac arrhythmia monitoring and interpretation required •Documented ability to work under stress and function effectively in critical situations •Willingness and ability to work the shifts as required in order to meet the needs of the unit for pre-booked and relief tours •Demonstrated ability to function efficiently within a multi-disciplinary team •Must be able to complete orientation as required •A good attendance and work record demonstrating reliability and dependability is essential •A resume regarding further education special courses and experience should accompany the application St. Joseph’s Health System (SJHS) and its member organizations are equal opportunity employers and strives for equity, inclusiveness, and diversity in all programs, practices, facilities, and people.
