Job summary

Permanent Part-Time Line 2 - Days (10:00am - 6:00pm) Week 1: Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2: Thursday 30.00 hours in two weeks, 0.39 FTE, 4 shifts in 2 weeks The Cook Assistant helps in the cooking duties following standardized recipes, production sheets and master menus. Maintains a high standard of sanitation in the preparation and handling of food, and also assists in washing kitchen utensils. Assists in coordination of meal production, and ensures quality and quantity control. Duties include selecting proper work methods and coordination of food preparation activities. Participates in delivery of meals, meal service and clean-up. QUALIFICATIONS Education: * A High School Diploma is required. * Journeyman cook is an asset. Other courses in cooking will be considered. * Food Safe Handling course is required. Experience: * Experience in institutional cooking is required. Position Requirements: * Good communication and interpersonal skills are an asset. * Excellent supervisory skills are preferred. * The business language of the corporation is English. Knowledge of a second language would be an asset. FUNCTIONAL CAPACITIES * The individual must possess the physical ability and psychological stability/resilience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
