WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: The Process Improvement Specialist serves as an expert in Lean philosophy, theory and tools and reports to the Manager of Transforming Care. In addition, this position is responsible for: Coaching, guiding and mentoring a culture of continuous improvement in the pursuit of an excellent patient care experience Develop tools, support analysis, and implement strategies for the successful achievement of continuous improvement goals Facilitating and engaging participants using the Lean Management system Planning, developing and delivering education and training Providing one-on-one coaching, mentoring and support to individual leaders, staff and improvement teams This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to showcase their strengths and talents in LEAN process improvement, process redesign, program evaluation and development. The Process Improvement Specialist will play a key leadership role in developing LEAN strategies and will work collaboratively at all levels of the organization to ensure quality service delivery. WHAT YOU MUST HAVE: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Health Care Administration, Engineering, Business Administration, Quality Improvement or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Quality and Process Improvement using LEAN methodology Has implemented a Lean Management System, and has experience facilitating and managing QI projects, including Kaizen, 6S events, FMEA, PDSA, metrics development, process and Value Stream Mapping and other Lean tools and methods. Experience with the Strategy Deployment Demonstrated intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Excel and Outlook Familiar with conducting experience-based co-design projects Knowledge and demonstrated experience leading change management, with the ability to apply change management principles and coach clinical teams through the change process Demonstrated leadership and personal drive to achieve results, and the ability to focus one’s attention on accomplishing key objectives and positive outcomes for oneself and one’s team Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to understand data sets. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging, informative and well-organized presentations Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail Understanding of computers, software, and the ability to leverage these tools in a health care setting Advanced computer skills for Microsoft applications and productivity tools Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way Ability to act as a mentor and understand the feelings, concerns and needs of other people, demonstrate care and interest towards them and establish and maintain productive relationships Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in an active work environment Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence and self-reflection Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence others and develop trusting internal and external relationships Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position Ability to regularly attend work in accordance with the Attendance Support Program Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values and code of conduct WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE: Healthcare and Industry experience Lean Six Sigma Training Yellow or Green Belt HOURS: The successful candidate will work Monday – Friday (37.5 hours weekly) with a willingness to adjust their schedule to meet the needs of the organization. The Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for coaching and mentoring a culture of continuous improvement and implementing strategies for achieving improvement goals. This role involves facilitating Lean Management practices and providing support to leaders and teams.
Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of experience in Quality and Process Improvement using Lean methodology. Experience with Lean tools and change management principles is also required.
