Summary Of Duties The Activity Aide, under the leadership of the Activity Aide Supervisor, assists residents to participate in a variety of meaningful activities. These activities include but are not limited to: Engaging residents in one-to-one recreational activities Escorting residents to and from recreation programs, both on the unit and off the unit Preparing residents for meals and assisting as required Providing cueing and support to residents regarding their personal care (e.g. assisting to washroom) when requested by staff Participate in educational activities and other duties as required The Activity Aide works collaboratively with the inter-professional team to maintain and enhance the quality of life for the residents. The Activity Aide participates as a member of the team in a manner that reflects the Hospital’s Patient Focused Care philosophy, promoting and maintaining good public relations with residents, families, visitors and Hospital staff. Qualifications/Skills Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education Experience working with seniors required Dementia care experience required Keen interest in working with the elderly Completion or current enrolment in post-secondary Human Services programs an asset Strong interpersonal skills Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally Team player Computer skills required

Requirements
