Technical Writer Position: Technical Writer Type: Contract Compensation: $30–$60/hour Location: Remote About the Opportunity This opportunity is for experienced Technical Writers with expertise in technical documentation, content development, research, technical communication, and information design to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. In this role, you'll apply your writing and technical expertise to evaluate AI-generated documentation, technical content, explanations, and structured outputs. Your work will help improve the accuracy, clarity, reasoning, usability, and communication capabilities of next-generation AI systems. No prior AI experience is required. Your technical writing experience, attention to detail, research skills, and ability to communicate complex information clearly are the primary qualifications for success in this role. Responsibilities Evaluate AI-generated technical documentation, guides, specifications, and instructional content for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and usability. Create and review technical documents, user guides, API documentation, knowledge base articles, manuals, and process documentation. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and well-structured content for different audiences. Review content for technical accuracy, logical consistency, grammar, terminology, formatting, and adherence to documentation standards. Research complex topics and synthesize information into structured technical documentation and reference materials. Identify ambiguities, inaccuracies, missing information, reasoning gaps, and unclear instructions in AI-generated outputs. Develop or apply documentation standards, style guides, evaluation frameworks, and quality criteria. Provide structured feedback to improve AI-generated technical writing, clarity, accuracy, and communication quality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain content consistency, technical quality, and evaluation standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Professional experience in technical writing, technical documentation, content development, or technical communication. Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and accurately. Experience creating or maintaining user guides, manuals, technical specifications, knowledge base articles, SOPs, or API documentation. Excellent written communication, editing, research, and proofreading skills. Strong attention to detail, including grammar, terminology, formatting, and content consistency. Ability to research unfamiliar technical topics and quickly understand technical systems, processes, or workflows. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience writing documentation for software, APIs, cloud platforms, engineering systems, scientific products, or technical tools. Familiarity with Markdown, Git/GitHub, documentation platforms, content management systems, or API documentation tools. Experience using tools such as Confluence, Notion, Jira, Swagger/OpenAPI, MadCap Flare, or similar documentation platforms. Knowledge of software development, engineering, data science, AI, or other technical domains. Experience developing style guides, documentation standards, content evaluation frameworks, or quality assurance processes. Familiarity with AI-assisted writing, content evaluation, data annotation, or AI model evaluation. Compensation Competitive compensation of $30–$60/hour. Weekly payments.
