This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional who understands the technical side of fashion and can help translate creative concepts into well-executed, production-ready garments. Working closely with our team, you will be responsible for developing accurate tech packs, reviewing samples, providing fit feedback, preparing technical flats, and coordinating technical details with factories and vendors. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing technical precision with the creative vision of a fashion brand. We are looking for someone who can work independently, manage priorities, and contribute meaningfully to the development of our collections. Key Responsibilities Technical Design & Tech Packs: Create, update, and maintain detailed tech packs, including construction specifications, measurement charts, bills of materials (BOMs), trims, and finishing details. Fit & Sample Reviews: Review prototypes, fit samples, and production samples; provide clear, actionable fit comments and construction feedback to support product refinement. Measurements & Grading: Develop and maintain garment measurement specifications, size charts, and grading requirements to ensure consistency across styles and sizes. CAD Drawings & Technical Flats: Create accurate technical drawings and garment flats that clearly communicate design details, construction, and finishing requirements. Factory & Vendor Communication: Communicate technical specifications, revisions, and sample feedback to factories and vendors, ensuring requirements are understood and accurately implemented. Product Development Support: Collaborate with the design and product development team throughout the product lifecycle, helping track revisions, resolve technical challenges, and keep development moving forward. Quality & Accuracy: Maintain organized technical documentation and help ensure garments meet established standards for fit, construction, quality, and design intent. Qualifications & Experience Relevant experience in technical design and apparel design ideally at a mid-level where you can manage projects independently. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, patternmaking principles, and apparel manufacturing. Proven experience creating comprehensive tech packs and measurement specifications. Experience conducting fit reviews and communicating sample corrections clearly. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for technical flats and drawings, along with Excel or Google Sheets. Experience communicating with overseas or domestic factories and vendors. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience across multiple apparel categories is highly valued. Familiarity with PLM systems and production workflows is an asset. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who brings together technical expertise, practical problem-solving, and a genuine interest in fashion. You should be comfortable moving between creative concepts and technical execution, anticipating potential issues, and finding solutions that support both product quality and design intent. This is an opportunity to work closely with our team in a flexible, part-time capacity and make a meaningful contribution to the development of our collections. Position Details Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility based on development needs. Work arrangement: Hybrid / in-person, with collaboration and sample reviews as required. Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications. How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a portfolio or examples of relevant technical design work. Examples may include tech packs, technical flats, measurement charts, fit comments, or other apparel product development documentation. Please also include your availability and hourly rate expectations.
